Like I have said I know nothing about blogging.. But here it goes.

To begin, as soon as this show started the Mother giving birth worried me, not for her sake but for mine. My Mother was awake and I thought she was going to come in here wondering if I was okay or not! But anyway back to the Anime. At the beginning there are little hints of what is to come in this Anime. As Sinbad was being born, an overseer of there world it looked like stated "A miracle child with power." Few years into the future (I think 3 to be exact) Mr. Badr, Sinbad's father is sitting in a eatery and is hailed as a war hero and is given an enormous amount of money, instead of taking it he rejected it and said "It could be used to buy peoples drinks." I caught that and I was thinking " I already like this guy. He is not doing it for the money or for the fame and glory!" And not only that, when he was walking out and it glimpsed his One-Leg coupled with the background music I was sad for some reason. There is a quick glimpse of Sinbad's power.. maybe? Him and his father at one point go out to see and a raging storm comes out and he points them into the right direction. After that his father says that Sinbad has "The power to choose the right destiny." That got me thinking that Sinbad, sometime in the future will be doing something amazing to benefit people around the world! Quick time skip two years into the future. Sinbad's father is being called a traitor for not going to war and fighting for his country. NOW, I realized what was happening. Countries around the area were not fighting for righteous causes, instead they were fighting for themselves. To achieve power and vasts amounts of money and it was corrupting everyone's view on what values needed to be kept as human beings. Fast forward a bit in the episode, an unknown man with injuries is found by Sinbad then taken into Mr. Badr's household and treated for injury. As this is happening, Sinbad strikes an interest with him about his hair (Shiny Yellow Anime Style Glistening Hair). He asks about it and Darius tells him about how many people outside the Island has different hair colors, cultures, ideas, and many other amazing things. This to me was one of the major scenes in this episode, I think it is a bit of foreshadowing of what is to come about what Sinbad will be doing in the near future (Seeing as most Anime shows, the main characters in story Anime's range from Ages 10-20ish). One morning, the unknown man decides it is time for him to leave, but at the door of Mr. Badr's household there are guard's asking about a man. He sees them and immediately kills them.. and Sinbad witness's it all. Fast forward, the unknown man is trying to get off the island and is holding Sinbad as a hostage. Sinbad's father comes to the rescue and begs and pleads for the release of his son and that the unknown guy turns himself in. To everyone's astonishment the unknown man reveals himself as "Reim Military secret agent, Darius," and refuses to give up the child. At that moment Mr. Badr lunges and attacks at lightning speed and cuts deep into his chest with his blade showing everyone who his true self used to be. After that he is treated like a traitor even more now because he was harboring a Traitor that he knew nothing about. Soon he is shown being taken out of the village area by guards to return to war, his family is there and the villagers are watching him being taken away and once again someone threatens his child and he lashed out again. But not with violent actions, but with meaningful words and a display of what his body looks like due to war. As everyone is in awe of his body he leaves with these final words to Sinbad "Sinbad. Fight if you are a man. Take care of your Mom for me." This is a pivotal point for Sinbad because now he has a duty to fulfill for his father and frankly a pivotal moment for me because I teared up. Not even going to lie. My Father went to war, not in the way Mr. Badr was forced too but I understand the separation feeling and it hit deep. Soon, the family is notified that he has died in the war and his sword and a bag of some items are returned to the family. But the body is never brought back. Time Skip 9 years ahead, Sinbad is 14 years old and ready to begin his journey! Or maybe he is already on it!

Coffee Thoughts

I have never watched any Magi series Anime. So for my first go at it, I really enjoyed this first episode. It was touching, showed some intense scenes and delivered a great opening to this Anime. When Sinbad's Father showed his war-torn body I was shocked, and to be honest I do not think he is dead. I will be finding out soon but I think Sinbad will be meeting his father sometime in the future! Or I could be horribly mistaken. I am looking forward to writing over the next episode whenever I get to watch it. Until then everyone!
